We developed this mobile-friendly HTML5 Supplier Training dashboard for one of our customers, to help them better understand the trends and patterns in their supplier training data. Users can view training compliance, both at an overall level and by individual training course, across their supply base. By drilling into each supplier role, we are able to view outcomes for individual suppliers.

Analysis Driven by Business Needs
A big part of our brief when creating this supplier training dashboard was to build a tool that could be used proactively. We wanted to go beyond simply cataloging the data, and build something that could be used to inform business decisions. One of our customers’ key targets was for their supply base to achieve 100% compliance in two courses that were critical for Health & Safety. With this in mind, we designed the dashboard so that the two key metrics (Training Courses A and B in this sample data set) were displayed prominently on the front page.
These KPIs are fully integrated with the dashboard’s drill-down functionality. Clicking on each Supplier Role updates the Summary section to show how each type of supplier is performing against the targets. Further drill-down is enabled through the “Show by Course” analysis option. This allows users to see the course compliance breakdown for each specific supplier company. It is therefore possible to understand not only which supplier types are performing better or worse, but also which individual suppliers are currently meeting their targets (or not).
Leveraging the Supplier Training dashboard
This dashboard provided our customer with unprecedented visibility of core training course compliance across their supply base. Working with individual suppliers, and using the dashboard as a tool to measure progress, they saw compliance levels rise from a baseline of around 64% to more than 95% within just 4 months, with the vast majority of their suppliers achieving 100% compliance.
This is a great example of how visibility of the data, coupled with a clear directive on how the data should be used to inform decisions, helped instill a significant positive change in our customer’s organisation.
